Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro is the only duly recognized MHEI (Maritime Higher Education Institution) approved by the Commission on Higher Education and MARINA (Maritime Industry Authority) within the island of Oriental Mindoro to offer Maritime Baccalaureate Degree Program for Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE).

In celebration of the 25th National Maritime Week and the 29th National Seafarers Day, the Philippine Port Authority hosted Zumba for a Cause event on September 29. Organized by the Philippine Coast Guardians of CCS Oriental Mindoro in partnership with various public departments, the event aimed to raise funds for a gift-giving and feeding program for coastal residents in the station's area of responsibility.
